Thank you for visiting our campaign website.  This year the voters of North Carolina will determine who will be the next Chief Executive Officer for Education in North Carolina.  A monumental decision at the very least!

My campaign promise to the voters is to continue to work hard to improve the quality of education in our state.  My vision is that one day our state will be a leader in improving student achievement and preparing our children to compete in a world-class economy.

During the course of this campaign,  I hope to earn your confidence and your vote. 

Biography

As Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives and as a Member of the House for sixteen years,  Richard Morgan has real hands-on experience at the highest levels of state government.  He participated in the crafting of state budgets which ranged from eleven to eighteen billion dollars!   He knows the most intricate details of the operations of our state government and our state budget. 

During a period that spans the years from 1991 until 2007, he has made countless contributions to public education through his budget writing abilities, committee involvement and steadfast public service to North Carolina.  He has worked with three of our Governors and he led a unified effort to obtain the sanction of North Carolina voters for education funding.
